Peer Review Policy

Journal of Engineering Sciences and Innovation uses double-blind peer review, which means that the reviewers don’t know the identity of authors, and vice versa, throughout the review process.

The manuscript submission should be made as two separate files: one full Manuscript containing the authors details, affiliation, funding source, acknowledgment, and one file as Blinded Manuscript with no any details about the authors or financial support information.

The manuscript submitted to JESI is reviewed at first by the Editor-in-Chief, to make sure it is within the scope of the journal. In this regard, the Editor-in-Chief decides which manuscript may follow the scientific review process.

Manuscripts that meet this criterion are sent to one of the Topical Editors, who will further coordinate the peer review process. The Topical Editor will select at least two reviewers who have good expertise in the field addressed in the manuscript and strictly follow best practice in avoiding the involvement of any fraudulent reviewers.

After the first round of the double-blind peer review process, a reviewed manuscript may be accepted without any modifications, accepted with minor modifications, accepted with major modifications or rejected. The manuscripts which need minor or major modification are subjected to the second round review process.  For the second round of review, the Topical Editor either invites the same reviewers to participate in the review process, or may decide to select other reviewers. During the review processes, the Editor-in-Chief ensures that the reviewers and authors have a clear, constructive communication.

After the second round of the double-blind peer review process, Topical Editors submit review reports to the Editor-in-Chief, who is responsible to inform the authors of the decision to publish or reject the manuscript. The final decision taken and notified by the Editor-In-Chief is supported by arguments, based on the conclusions of the second round reports.

Only the manuscripts that are accepted without modification after the second round of review are declared accepted and sent forward to publishing.

The authors should consider that the peer review process may last for at least 12 weeks from the manuscript submission to the publishing acceptance.
